Gear S extension

Who agrees on an deadline extension for the new Gear S?
No device, new many features, and no time to consume and test all of these features
Who agree with this?

    Lets wait till Samsung distribute Gear S all around the world. How long will it take ? A month, a quarter ? How long will it take for us to test and develop for new features ? :)

    no - as they have said theres no need to support the S - I am adapting my layouts for it but not adding any S specific functions as like you say you really need a device to test properly - its not part of this challenge.

    I think Samsung wont extend because Samsung Developer Conference is at fixed date.

    Hi all,

    I have a question to owners of the contest. I simply can't test my application purely on Simulator. My application is using both smartphone and smartwatch.

    On the emulator I can test only application which is only using smartwatch.
    In my opinion people who will get Galaxy S devices will have higher chances as they will be able to test the application. Others simply will be on the lost position.

    So my proposal is to either:
    - extend deadline for Galaxy S only until everybody will be able to buy it
    - or remove the point that everybody who will get certification on Galaxy S will get more points as this is not fair.

    Please tell me your opinion about that ?

    Hi rbereski,

    Thanks for writing. We understand where you're coming from, however, at this point there are no plans to extend the deadline or remove the extra points from apps that support the Gear S screen resolution of 360x480 and pass certification for the Gear S device. If there are any changes, all Round 2 finalists will be notified.

    So please could you tell me how I can test my application for Gear S ?
    My application is using both smarpthone and smartwatch. If I can't test it could you confirm I will get max points related to Gears S ? I think many people here will have the same problem. But there might be some people working for Samsung ( as somebody has spotted in previous phase of the contest ) who already have this phone. Is this fair ?

    I really want to adjust my app to Gear S, by nobody gave me such possibility so far ...

    The situation with Gear S support is next:
    my app use both smartphone and smartwatch, on 360x480 screen size emulator + smartphone app works and looks great, but when I tried to pass Gear S certification, app on Gear S could not even connect to smartphone ( I tried both 2.0.19b and 2.1.8b Accessory SDK jars). There is no special app connect config posted for Gear S.
    So what we should do in this situation?

    Exactly we can't test the app. So either we should get max points for Gear S extension or we should be provided with some way of how to test our apps. How we can pass the certification if we can't event test our apps ?

    I can get my app communicating between the phone and the Gear S emulator. I'm not sure if the child wgt file will be installed on the device, though. There's no way to test that.

    Gear S devices is not available in samsung remote test lab. only 2 or 3 are working. how can we test using this. from last 2 days i am waiting for one device but not get any working device.
